Hard water stains,
lifted off the glass.

Sprinkler overspray, salt air and irrigation minerals leave a cloudy film ordinary cleaning wipes straight over. We treat the deposit itself, and we tell you honestly when glass is too far gone.

What hard water actually does to glass

Irrigation water on the Gulf Coast is loaded with calcium and magnesium. When overspray hits a window and bakes off in the sun, the water leaves and the minerals stay, bonding to the surface. Repeat that a few hundred times over a couple of seasons and you get the white haze you see on the sprinkler-facing side of nearly every Florida house.

Salt air does something similar on waterfront homes, and pool decks add their own chemistry. None of it comes off with soap, because it is not dirt sitting on the glass. It is a mineral deposit chemically attached to it, which is why regular window cleaning wipes right over the top.

How we remove it

We start with a test patch in a low-visibility corner so you can see the result before committing to the full job. Depending on how heavy the deposit is, that means a mineral-dissolving treatment, a fine polishing compound, or both, always worked with plenty of water and checked constantly against the surrounding glass.

Pace matters more than pressure. Rushing hard water work is how installers end up replacing glass. We work in small sections, rinse often, and keep the treatment off frames, screens and seals.

When the answer is honest bad news

If minerals sit long enough, they stop being a deposit on the surface and start etching into the glass itself. Etching is physical damage, and no chemical or polish brings it back to factory clear. When we see it, we say so at the assessment rather than charging for a restoration that cannot deliver.

If the hard water is really bad, you will likely need a dedicated glass restoration company that performs acid washes. That is not us. We can only do so much safely, and we will not risk damaging your glass by pushing past that limit.

Once glass is clean, keeping it that way is mostly about the sprinklers. Adjusting heads away from the house, running irrigation earlier so the water is not baking in the sun, and putting the affected elevation on a shorter cleaning cycle keeps the haze from coming back.

How it works

What the visit looks like.

01

Assess and test

We inspect the affected elevation, test a small area and show you the realistic result before quoting the full job.

02

Treat the deposit

Minerals are dissolved and polished off in small sections, rinsing constantly and protecting frames and seals.

03

Clean and prevent

The restored glass gets a full clean and we point out the sprinkler heads causing the damage in the first place.
